52 lakh missed calls in support of CAA protest

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that BJP received 52,70,000 missed calls in support to CAA bill.

As a part of its campaign to mobilise the CAA bill, BJP launched a toll-free number for people to extend their support CAA bill. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that it received 52.70 lakh missed calls. On SundayBJP President led a door to door campaign to spread the awareness about the act.

Amit Shah visited homes in Lajpatnagar and explained to them about the act. He also distributed the pamphlets to them and asked them to go through it.

BJP top leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman will take part in the awareness campaign from January 1 to 15. The Citizenship passed in Lok Sabha on December 9 and then by Rajya Sabha 11 December.

After the bill passed protests began and turned violent. The protests initially began in Assam, Uttar Pradesh. The anti CAA protests spread to some more places Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad.
