The day after YS Jagan-led government in AP passed Disha Act's bill in the Assembly one more brutal and horrific incident took place in the state. A five-year-old baby was raped in Nagarapalem.

The baby stays in Nagarapalem with her mother and grandmother. While the victim's mother is a nurse at a hospital as her son and husband stay in another town. Mother of the victim went for her work on Wednesday and the grandmother went to market leaving the girl in the house.

Accused Tadipatri Lakshma Reddy, who is in his teenage who stays in the next flat got to know about this. He caught the victim and took her to his room and raped her. The accused threatened the victim that he will kill her if she reveals this news to anyone.

The girl told her mother that she is having severe pain in the lower abdomen and when the mother stressed her she told everything that happened with her. Victim's mother registered a complaint with the police and the victim was immediately rushed to Guntur Government Hospital (GGH) for a medical test. The accused was arrested by the cops.

The case came into limelight as woman activists reached the GGH in large numbers and staged a protest. "Will the government encounter Lakshmi Reddy or take up the legal route?" the protestors asked.

Cases were filed on the accused on Section 376, POSCO Act and SC, ST Atrocity cases were filed against him.
