After two long years, the IPL officer faced a piece of good news.

As a major win for AB Venkateswara Rao, who held the key post of Intelligence Chief in the previous regime received the orders from the government which says that he is reinstated into services from February 8, 2022. Having said that, the Andhra Pradesh government directed him to report to the General Administration Department till he gets further orders.

Tracing back the incidents that made him face the suspension, the YCP led Andhra Pradesh which came to power after the 2019 polls accused him of allegedly involving in some irregularities while procuring the security equipment.

On the same grounds, he was kept on suspension. On many occasions, AB Venkateswara Rao said that he did not indulge in any wrongdoings and alleged that he is being targeted despite not doing anything wrong. He had approached the Supreme Court and High Court.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court said that the suspension should be lifted. However, the Andhra Pradesh government had approached the Supreme Court challenging this. The issue came for the hearing a few times and AB Venkateswar Rao had the last laugh in the end with the Apex Court saying that the suspension cannot be continued even after two years.

The Supreme Court directed the Andhra Pradesh government to implement the orders and lift the suspension of ABV. Even after getting the orders, the Andhra Pradesh government did not lift the suspension orders. With this, Ab Venkateswara Rao visited the CS office a few times. As a big win, the Andhra Pradesh government lifted his suspension.

Even when in opposition, the YCP accused AB Venkateswara Rao of his alleged wrongdoings. After coming to power, the YCP-led government intensified its criticism and kept him on suspension. The government even constituted a committee to look into the matter.
