Central government's policy think tank Niti Aayog anchored the Aspirational Districts Programme with an intention to improve the health and nutrition of the people in the underprivileged districts.

The Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) was launched in 2018. The main motto of the scheme is to up the socio-economic outcomes in the districts that fall under the underdeveloped category.

In a piece of good news for the Andhriates, Andhra Pradesh stood at third place by achieving 66.67 percent in the aspirational district rankings for November issued by Niti Aayog.

Chhattisgarh(80 percent) and Odisha(70 percent) bagged the top spots in the Niti Aayog's aspirational district rankings for the November edition,

To allot rankings for the states based on the progress they archives, Niti Aayog took areas like Health and nutrition, education, agriculture, and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development, and basic infrastructure into consideration.

Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh have achieved the estimated development for this month.
