AP Government Appealed Supreme Court On Panchayati Raj Buildings Colors
X
The Andhra Pradesh government led by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy which is very firm on its decision on painting the gram panchayats buildings with party colors moved the Supreme Court.

The AP government appalled the apex court challenging the verdict given by State High Court to quash the GO No 623 which deals with painting the gram panchayat building with the party colors.

The High Court found fault with the government for issuing the GO to paint the buildings with the party colors and even added that why can't contempt of court case should not be filed on the government for not removing the colors even after the court order to do so.

The High Court sought an explanation from the panchayat raj secretary and chief secretary in this row and warned that if the government failed to take any decision on this, contempt of court case will be filed against the government.

The contempt petition was deferred by the High Court as the government moved the apex court and filed a special leave petition in this case.
