After coming to power, the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led Andhra Pradesh government has introduced a major scheme that brings ration items to the doorstep of the beneficiaries.

The vehicles used for door delivery of ration goods are equipped with the required items that help the dealers in measuring the quantity of the goods that are meant to be supplied for the card holders.

To see that the beneficiaries who run the vehicles will not face any financial burden, the government has increased the subsidy percentage from the existing 60 percent to 90 percent.

The beneficiaries, who will get the vehicles as part of the employment creation scheme will have to spend just 10 percent of the vehicle cost and that too they can pay the same in installment basis.

Jagan Mohan Reddy promised to offer ration goods to the beneficiaries at their doorstep during his campaign before the 2019 election as he was informed about the difficulties faced by the elderly people to get the ration goods.

The Andhra Pradesh government has been implementing the flagship scheme of door delivery of ration goods since January last year. More than 9,000 vehicles were purchased for the scheme.
