After TRS, TDP Too Fails To Hold Plenary For Second Year Running
X
Will the Telugu Desam Party be the second major Telugu regional party to abandon its Maha Nadu plenary? It appears so. With the lockdown in force and mass gatherings banned, the Telugu Desam has decided not to hold its plenary this year.

The TDP plenary (Mahanadu) is held on May 27, 28 and 29 every year to coincide with the birth anniversary of party's founder-thespian NTR. The Maha Nadu is a big affair and the party views it as a show of its strength. Last year, it could not hold the Maha Nadu due to the elections. Moreover, the party was down in the dumps after the crushing defeat in the elections. This year, Corona has hit the party hard and it is unable to hold the Maha Nadu. Even NTR's birth anniversary is going to be a simple affair this year. Thus, this will be the second year running when the TDP would be unable to hold its Maha Nadu.

The other party which failed to hold its plenary is the TRS. Last year, it could not do so because of the elections and this year, the Corona has robbed it off its chance to hold the Plenary.
