The newly announced Agnipath scheme planted many doubts in the minds of Army aspirants that their opportunities might be killed with the scheme. The fear of missing the opportunities forced the aspirants to hit the road and create havoc. Many states have already seen violent protests demanding the repeal of the scheme.
It's the turn of Telangana to face the heat. Earlier today, the Secunderabad Railway station was attacked by the protestors. The angry protestors went on a rampage and put a few train coaches on fire. The protestors even blocked the railway tracks.
With the protestors not listening, the cops had to use gun firing to clear the crowd. The police firing reportedly made one person lose his life while many sustained serious injuries. As many as eight people sustained big injuries in the police firing. In the recent past, we have never seen such violent protests. Even when the Telangana movement was going on it never turned violent.
As a shocking development, a few youths who took part in the protest reportedly told a news outlet that the attack was pre-planned and the information on attacking the railway station is shared with the fellow aspirants on apps like WhatsApp.
They even alleged that they have been in the railway station since yesterday night to execute the plan. Shockingly, those who want to serve the nation are damaging public property.
