The 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup that is awaited by cricketing fans across the globe is fast approaching. In just four days, the short format tournament will kickstart. Oman and Papua New Guinea will lock horns in the inaugural match of the tournament.

Ahead of the tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) had released the new jersey for Men in Blue that closely resembles the jersey donned by the Indian players for the 1992 edition of the World Cup.

The BCCI took to Twitter to drop the look of the new jersey that will be worn by the Indian Cricketers. The star players of Indian cricket posed with the new jersey that is thick blue in color.

In the picture shared by BCCI, skipper Virat Kohli, Hitman Rohit Sharma, Stylish batsman KL Rahul, all-rounder Sir Ravindra Jadeja and speedster Jasprit Bumrah struck a pose in the new jersey. The Cricket governing body had called the new jersey 'Billion Cheers jersey'.

The cricket authority also said that the fans can get their Cricket Jersey from the official website of mobile gaming application MPL Sports, which had sponsored the new kit.

“Presenting the Billion Cheers Jersey! The patterns on the jersey are inspired by the billion cheers of the fans. Get ready to #ShowYourGame @mpl_sport.Buy your jersey now on http://mplsports.in.#MPLSports #BillionCheersJersey," BCCI tweeted.


The MPL Sports had also expressed its happiness on the launch of the new jersey. The official kit sponsor called the Indian cricket team the pride of the nation and said Jersey is the blessing from the cricket fans."This isn't just a Team, they are the pride of India. This isn't just a jersey, it is the blessing of a billion fans. Get ready to cheer for Team India," the tweet reads.

India will enter the Tournament with a high-intense match with arch-rivals Pakistan. Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will serve the Indian cricket team as the mentor for the team. According to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, Dhoni had agreed to serve the team without charging any money. As Virat will step down as the skipper for T 20- format after the tournament, fans want him to win the trophy.
