In a much embarrassment to the BJP party, Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das has lost the seat to an independent candidate. This clearly shows how the public of the state is opposing the saffron party. Independent candidate Sarayu Rai has won the Jamshedpur East constituency by crushing Das with a majority of 855o seats.
Looking back at the history of Sarayu Rai, he won the Jamshedpur West seat with the BJP leader. With the party not giving him a ticket, he contested the elections as an independent candidate and emerged victoriously.
The political circles are citing that the ex-BJP leader has taken revenge for not giving him the seat.
In the 2014 elections, Rai won the elections by crushing Banna Gupta 10,000 votes majority. He tasted maiden victory as MLA in 2005. In 2009 he emerged victorious by defeating Congress candidate Banna Gupta with a majority of 3,000 votes.
During the initial trends, Das said, "Jharkhand CM and BJP candidate from Jamshedpur East: These trends are not the final word. There are more rounds of counting to be held. It will not be correct to comment on these trends. I will hold a press conference later in Ranchi."
"We're not only winning but we'll also form govt under the leadership of BJP in the state," he added.
