The Andhra Pradesh High Court on August 4 directed the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government to maintain status quo for 10 days on the shifting of government offices from Amaravati.

A division bench comprising Justice Rakesh Kumar, Justice Akula Venkata Seshasai, and Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy ordered the state government to file a counter to the petitions by August 14 and deferred hearing till then.

On Friday, the High court has again extended the status quo orders till August 27. The government's advocate requested the court to postpone the hearing, despite extending the stay order. However, the court refused to government's appeal and asked what is the emergency over this during the Corona crisis and deferred hearing till then.
