Is the BJP getting ready to face another jolt in Telangana? The party, which till recently looked like the force that could challenge the might of the TRS, is now no longer attractive to the leaders from the other parties. One after another, the leaders are leaving the BJP for TRS in Telangana.
After Mothkupalli Narsimhulu defected to the TRS, the BJP was bracing up for Peddireddy too to leave the party. Peddireddy is politically a spent-force and has not won an election in many years. When Eatala was announced as the BJP candidate from Huzurabad, he protested and has been keeping a low profile in BJP. It is only a matter of time, when he gets sucked into the TRS party.
But the bigger jolt is that of Kuna Srisailam Goud. This former MLA has a huge support base in Jeedimetla and Qutbullahpur. He won as an independent and then joined the Congress Party. Later, he joined the BJP. But, he is said to be unhappy with the way the BJP is treating him. He is finding that the BJP's working system and organizational structure too are not suitable for him. Now that Revanth Reddy has taken over the reins of the Congress Party in Telangana, Kuna Srisailam Goud is said to be seriously considering rejoining the Congress
Kuna Srisailam Goud is said to be planning for the political future of his son and is said to have obtained some assurances from Revanth Reddy. The TPCC chief is said to have held several rounds of talks with Kuna Srisailam Goud. It is now being said that it is only a matter of time before he takes the plunge and rejoins the BJP. This will be a huge jolt to the party as it has hedged its bets on him for the 2023 elections.
