Are Welfare Schemes Really Useful?

There is a deep sense of worry and concern among the TRS leaders over the efficacy of the welfare schemes being put in place by the party leadership. They are worried that the party has lost both Dubbak and the GHMC and is staring at an uncertain future in Nagarjunasagar despite the slew of the welfare schemes.
For instance in Dubbak, over 1.3 lakh individuals have been benefited by one state government scheme of the other. Starting from Pensions to Rythu Bandhu, there are several schemes that are under implementation. The TRS leaders were pretty confident that the beneficiaries would definitely vote for them. Yet, it turned out that the party's vote share has not only come down, but the party candidate was defeated.
In the GHMC too, the corporators were quite confident that the welfare schemes and the road and drainage works would see them through.But, the party was badly mauled in the elections. Now, there is serious re-thing among the party leaders and strategists over whether the schemes were politically beneficial. They are now worried whether all this effort would help them win the upcoming elections in 2023.
