The members of the controversial Tablighi Jamaat, who attended the Delhi Markaz meet, are proving to be tough nuts to crack. Not only are they refusing to cooperate with the authorities, they are also opposing corona tests on them. Recently, 14 such Tabligh activists, who were hiding in a mosque, could be caught only after the Army jawans intervened.

The Army intelligence in Lucknow's cantonment area had tipped off the authorities that 14 Tablighi activists with suspected Corona symptoms were hiding in a mosque Sadar Bazaar Ali Jaan Mosque near Lucknow cantonment. The police and the army jawans then conducted a raid on the mosque and arrested 14 persons. A local person was found supplying food to them and a doctor in the neighbouring locality, identified as Asif Khan of Zara Clinic, was found treating hthem. The Tabligh members, the doctor and the local contact were sent to the hospital for quarantining.

The arrested persons have been identified as Jabir Hussain (49), Aftab (71), Tanvir Alam (32), Qurban (50), Afzal Farman (30), Wassim (54), Intezaar (46), Rafiq, Danish, Qurban, Irfan, Ather and Mirazuddin. The mosque has since been sanitised and seized.
