BJP Firebrand leader… former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti created a sensation with her comments that she will convert all the illegal liquor shops into Cow shelters. She said that liquor is the reason behind the attacks on women in Madhya Pradesh. She reached a liquor shop which is close to a temple in Bhopal's Ayodhya Nagar and sat for a protest for a few days. She expressed her anger that no proper response came from the government though her protest ended yesterday.
She demanded that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should take strict action on the liquor shops. She said that action should be taken to close all the illegal liquor shops or else she will convert them into Cow Shelters.
"Governments are being formed in the name of Lord Ram, but a liquor shop has been allowed to come up near the Ram temple which is sad. Forming a government is not a big deal but the big thing is to develop a healthy society and ensure the protection of women and the future of children, Uma Bharti maintained.
Breathing fire on a section of leaders who are targeting her, Uma Bharti said she is not after any post and asked if she will get the Prime Minister post if she fights against the ban on liquor.
Uma Bharti said that no one dares to stop her and said she ordered to arrange 11 cows in front of the illegal liquor shops and food and water will be provided there.
Recently she met the Chief Minister and asked him to bring a new liquor policy. He is said to have given a positive response. But Uma Bharati felt angry as the words did not reflect in actions. With this, she dared to convert the illegal liquor shops. This issue became a big issue in Madhya Pradesh.
