Ahead of the Bihar elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) and opposition Congress indulge in a war of words over the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress Parliamentarian P. Chidambaram made a Tweet on changing the status quo in Jammu and Kashmir. In his Tweet, he said the Congress party stands for the rights of the people in the region.
BJP national president JP Nadda lashed out at the opposition for coming up with such a demand and said the party is back dirt tricks to Divide India.
"Since Congress has no good governance agenda to talk about, they are back to their "Divide India" dirty tricks before Bihar elections. Shri Rahul Gandhi praises Pakistan and Shri Chidambaram says Congress wants Article 370 to return! Shameful!" JP Nadda tweeted.
This is not the first time, Congress demand to restore Article 370 in the region. When the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi revoked the special status Congress openly slammed the decision.
The government revoked Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir on 5 August 2019 thus revoking the special status enjoyed by the region. The region was made into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
