Why is Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay hurrying through his yatra this time. If highly placed sources are to be believed, he has been told by the party high command to complete his yatra as early as possible so as to focus on building the party and preparing it for the 2023 assembly elections.

The BJP national leadership is said to have told him that there is every possibility that KCR could go in for early polls. Hence they reportedly told him that it was not time for yatras. They asked him to focus on preparing the party for the upcoming elections. He was reportedly asked to focus on identifying he candidates for the upcoming elections.

So far, Bandi has completed four phases of his yatra. The fifth phase has just begun from Bhainsa town. It may be recalled that though he has repeatedly said that there would be no advancing of the elections, KCR is said to have directed the officials to complete all the pending works at the earliest. Many see this as an indication that he is planning to go for early polls.

In light of all these, Bandi has been asked to wind up his yatra by February at the latest. After that, he would be asked to build the party and address the weak links in the party. The BJP is expecting that KCR might go in for early polls by May next year. So, it has asked the party to be in full state of preparedness.
