This is the first time the TRS opposed a Bill introduced by the NDA government in the Parliament in the past six years.
BJP spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said KCR makes false claims that he is the biggest Hindu in the country but escaped when the situation came to prove his credentials.
"BJP considers TRS as a B-Team of AIMIM and Congress party in the state of Telangana. KCR is a political puppet in the hands of Asaduddin Owaisi & his electorate," the BJP spokesman said.
The TRS had issued a whip to its members to vote against the Bill. The party received a mixed response in social media. Many people tweeted the photos of KCR and Owaisi, with comments that the bond with MIM had forced the TRS to vote against the Bill. Telugu Desam and YSR Congress parties have supported the Bill. There is not much debate on the crucial issue among political parties in the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
