The union government had picked several personalities across the fields for the prestigious Civilian Award, the Padma Awards. From Arts to Sports to Military to Pharma, the recipients were selected for three awards, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri. The founders of a leading Pharma giant were also selected for the award.

Husband-wife Dr. Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella, who founded the famous Pharma firm in Telangana capital Hyderabad, Bharat Biotech that is behind developing Covaxin were picked for Padma Bhushan Awards.

Ever since the couple was conferred with the Civilian Award, the duo has been receiving a flood of wishes and congratulatory messages. From common people to celebrities, everyone is congratulating the husband-wife duo for the inspirational story they had so far.

Actor-turned-politician, Hindupur Legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna's younger daughter Tejaswini and her husband Bharat met the Ella couple and personally congratulated them for the Padma awards.

While there is no official information on where the two couples met each other, it is believed that they got to meet each other at a party. As the Ella couple was snapped with Indian flags on their dress, the meeting might have taken place the other day on the eve of Republic Day.

The Union Home Ministry had announced the list of Recipients of the Awards on Jan 26 on the occasion of Republic Day. Hours after the list was announced, Tejaswini and her husband might have met the Ellas to personally congratulate them on the special and prideful occasion.

The multinational biotechnology company in Hyderabad, Bharat Biotech was founded in 1996. The Ellas returned to India from the United States and started the biotech firm, located in Genome Valley. With biosafety level 3 laboratories, Bharat Biotech had earlier manufactured vaccines for Chikungunya and other viral diseases.

Bharat Biotech had added one more vaccine to its name with Covaxin, one of the vaccines which are being used in the country. So far, the firm has manufactured 16 various vaccinesNot just in India, the vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech is used in other countries as well. The Hyderabad-based pharma firm is exporting the vaccine doses to no less than over 20 nations.
