As a major relief to the Andhra Pradesh government, the Divison Bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court gave its nod for holding the Parishad elections. The High Court heard the petition today.

Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commissioner Neelam Sahni moved the High Court challenging the stay orders issued by the single judge bench over the Parishad elections.

After hearing the arguments of the petition, the Divison Bench quashed the stay orders issued by the single judge bench and said the MPTC and ZPTC polls will be held as per the earlier schedule.

The other day, the single judge bench issued a stay order on the Parishad elections on the reason that the Model Code of Conduct should be in effect four weeks before the elections.

AP SEC knocked on the doors of the High Court with a House Motion Petition stating that the High Court shouldn't have interfered in elections when the election schedule was issued already.

As per the election schedule, Andhra Pradesh will witness MPTC and ZPTC elections on the 8th of April, i.e, tomorrow. The government building and other buildings will be used as polling booths.
