US Could End Per-Country Green Card Cap

A concrete step has been taken to end the Per-Country Limit of Green Cards. Two Identical Legislations in this regard have been moved in the US House of Representatives. Leading Companies in the Silicon Valley, including Google, have been backing these legislations.
Republican Party leader Mike Lee and Democratic Presidential Aspirant Kamala Harris introduced the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act in the Senate. Another Bill 'Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act (HR 1044)' was moved by Congressman Zoe Lofgren and Ken Buck, who is the Chair and Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship, with co-sponsorship of a bipartisan group of 112 Congressmen.
If the US House of Representatives clears the bill, Thousands of Indian Professionals who were forced to wait for decades due to Per-Country Limit for Green Card will get benefitted. Passage of the legislation will cut down the waiting time for permanent legal residency drastically.
Green Card permits an Individual live in the United States and work permanently in the most developed country. United States grants 1.4 lakh Green Cards per year to Employment-based Immigrants. As per the existing law, Only 7 percent of Green Cards will be allotted to the nationals of one country though some nations have vast population. Indian and Chinese Professionals were made to wait for years to get permanent residency because of this rule.
The Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act guarantees increase of the per-country caps for family-sponsored green cards from 7 per cent to 15 per cent. All the Immigrants will be treated equally irrespective of their country-origin. 'First come, First Served' system will come into effect to clear the Green Card backlogs.
