Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao chaired a crucial review meeting with the Ministers and District Collectors at Pragathi Bhavan to take a call on the schools reopen across the state.

The outcome of the meeting is that the state government decided to reopen the schools. As per the schedule, the schools across the state will be reopened from the 1st of February.

However, it is said that, though the government decided to reopen the schools, the classes are likely to be held for the students of class nine and tenth only.

It has been widely reported that, along with the schools, the Intermediate and Degree Colleges will also be reopened on February 1, 2021. The official statement in this regard is awaited.

The high-level meeting took place, a week after the Telangana Parents Association members met Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy over the schools reopening issue.

The decision taken by the Telangana government will pave a way for the schools across the state to resume operations fayre a long gap of 10 months, which were shut with the Covid outbreak.

Earlier, several states including fellow Telugu state Andhra Pradesh have permitted the educational institutions to resume operations in late 2020 itself.
