COVID-19 Cases In India Surpasses 56,000

The positive cases of the novel coronavirus in India are increasing rapidly as 3,900 fresh cases were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, which takes the toll of the cases to 56,342.
The data issued by the Health Ministry stated that, out of the fresh cases, 1,200 fresh cases were reported in Maharashtra alone.43 people succumbed to the virus in the state.
More than 100 people lost their lives to the fatal virus in the country which takes the death toll to 1,886. The active cases in India stood at 37,916 with more than 16,000 recovered from the virus.
Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi and Tamil Nadu are the states that have the most number of cases and fatalities in the country. The poistive cases in Maharashtra stood at 17,974 and 698 deaths were claimed in the state so far.
The positive cases in Gujarat reached 7,012 with 387 fresh cases reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fatalities in the state stood at 425, with 29 fresh deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
Tamil Nadu reported 580 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the state and the toll of the cases reached 5,409. The death toll in the state stood at 31.
