CPI Extends Support To Kavitha For Women Reservation!

It is known that things are not going well between the BRS and BJP. The fight escalated even further with the ongoing Delhi liquor scam. Kavitha's name is mentioned as one of the accused and was asked to be present before the investigating agencies. However, she said that she is busy with other work.

Kavitha sat for the protest in the national capital Delhi seeking the Women's Reservation Bill. The opposition parties also supported the dharna to mount pressure on the BJP to introduce the bill. As the party has a big strength the bill can be passed easily.

Now, none other than former Rajya Sabha member Sitaram Yechury joined the protest and supported the proposal. The CPI (M) general secretary extended her support and said that the opposition parties should come together for this and fight the BJP.

Sitaram Yechury said that they are supporting Kavitha in this fight as achieving reservation for women is the need of the hour and is the right of women. He even said the percentage of women members in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha is very less.

"By passing the Women's Reservation Bill, you are not gifting anything to them. Women's participation is the need of the hour for all-round development of the nation," the Communist leader said.

It is known that the communists formed an alliance with the BRS for the Munugode by-polls and the ruling party won the polls. Since then the parties are walking together and they might even go for the polls together for the general polls. Now Sitaram Yechury supported Kavitha
