CSK's Strategic Move: Retains All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja!

Indians have a love-hate relationship with the successful tournament Indian Premier League(IPL). Every time the tournament sees record viewership and generates good revenue. However, the tournament gets severely bashed when team India fails to perform on big occasions. IPL gave us good talents like Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
Now the IPL is receiving all the attention with the 2023 player auction. To build a strong team the franchises are removing players who they think are not required and retaining quality players. Players who represented the teams are now released.
The Chennai Super Kings team kept the speculations to rest by retaining all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. It is a strategic move to do so. Dhoni might step down as the skipper in 2023 or next year and the team needs a quality player to fit into the big shoes of Dhoni.
Jadeja has been a quality player for CSK. He was even made the skipper in the last season. However, Dhoni had to lead the team again after CSK lost back-to-back matches. The happiness of donning a captain hat did not last long for Jadeja.
For the past few weeks, it has been reported that things are not going well between Jadeja and CSK management. Many even thought that CSK might leave Jadeja. But the team did not do that and retained him. He brings a big balance to the team and losing him is not a wise decision.
CSK's middle order is already weak in the absence of Suresh Raina. Due to various reasons, Raina was not retained and no other teams showed interest in him. If Jadeja also leaves the team then CSK will not take much time in becoming another SRH.
Grooming someone like Ravindra Jadeja as the next leader is easier than finding another player and training him. Considering this, the CSK management might have retained Ravindra Jadeja.
