The Much-awaited by-election in Telangana, Huzurabad was postponed by the EC as the election schedule issued by the election body does not include the bypolls in both Telugu States. With this, the Congress party is using the time to get the applications from the aspirants.

TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy, who is said to be in favour of fielding Konda Surekha couldn’t do this, as she didn’t file the applications for the by-elections reportedly. While 18 applications were filed by the aspirants, Konda Surekha distanced herself from filing the applications.

As the Huzurabad marks the first elections the Telangana wing of Congress, Revanth Reddy is said to have taken the elections seriously and that’s why he wanted to field Konda Surekha as the Congress candidate as she had earlier served as a Minister.

The T Congress leaders have reportedly convinced Konda Surekha to be the candidate. However, a few leaders have reportedly opposed the candidacy of Surekha saying that she is not a local leader. This came as a big surprise and jolted the Telangana Congress.

The Huzurabad is expected to be a fight between TRS and BJP. Given that the ballot box is likely to be a two-faced one. The Congress sympathisers are hoping that at least Congress should end the elections in a respectable position by winning a fair share of votes.
