It's been a few months since the alleged Delhi Liquor Scam popped up. But the intensity and heat around the controversy are not over yet. At regular intervals, the investigating agencies are unearthing new details making the case an interesting one. A few big names popped up in the case as the accused.

Central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) are probing the matter. The ED is probing the matter to see if there is any Money laundering angle involved as the alleged scam is said to be worth hundreds of crores.

The agencies are going aggressively in the case and placing the accused on arrest to get more information. The ED reportedly arrested Gautam Malhotra, son of former Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Deep Malhotra in connection with the case on the alleged charges of money laundering.

Gautam Malhotra's arrest added intensity to the case as he comes from a Political party and he is a popular Businessman in Punjab. Though the case was unearthed in Delhi people from other regions are mentioned as the accused in the case. Earlier raids were conducted in multiple locations in the country in connection with the case.

He will be produced before the court and the investigating officers might ask the court to grant his custody so that it will help them in getting more details in the case.

Gautam Malhotra's arrest is the new arrest in connection with the case. Recently former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha's former Chartered Accountant was arrested by the CBI. After questioning him the investigating officers are said to have taken him into custody. Earlier Kalvakuntla Kavitha was questioned by the CBI officers in the case at her residence in Hyderabad.

The Delhi government led by Aam Aadmi Party brought the excise policy 2021-22 to let private entities sell liquor by running the stalls. But many questions were raised and allegations were leveled about the Policy. However, the government canceled the Excise Policy after the allegations. A CBI probe was ordered by Delhi LG. Several big names like Kavitha and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were mentioned as the accused.
