Centre's shocking reaction on Paddy Procurement!

Batting for the demand that the Centre should procure the paddy from the farmers, the Telangana government is attacking the Union government and protesting for the interests of the farmers. The TRS government has been staging protests under the Maha Dharna. CM KCR participated in the Dharna today.
However, the Centre poured water on the hopes of procuring the paddy from the farmers. In a statement, the Union government said that it cannot procure paddy. 60 lakh tonnes of boiled rice was produced this season. We informed the state government that we cannot procure paddy from the state and the government agreed. Paddy is being cultivated more than requirement, Centre said.
The Union government said that Parboiled rice cannot be purchased. We will take a decision on the demands of the states. With the same, we have directed the states to look for alternatives for cultivation. These crops should be cultivated largely, the Centre added.
