Finally, Chandrababu Naidu opens up on Kuppam defeat

Finally, at long last, TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has commented on the TDP defeat in Kuppam. This is for the first time that he has responded on the issue. He said the Jagan government misused official machinery and let loose a reign of goondas to defeat the TDP in Kuppam. A defeat in Kuppam does not mean much, he said and said that the government was not focusing on the welfare of the people.
Speaking during his visit to the flood-ravaged areas in Chittoor district, Chandrababu has opened up on this and said that the YSRCP has used goonda and rowdy force to win in Kuppam. He said there was no reason to be unnerved by the defeat in Kuppam. He said that government has used all the resources at its command to defeat the TDP.
Till now Chandrababu Naidu did not react to the Kuppam defeat. In fact, he maintained total silence on the issue. On the day when the party was defeated in Kuppam, he asked senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu to talk to the media. He and his son left for Hyderabad on the same afternoon. In the Kuppam Municipality, the TDP, which had a complete domination for over decades, was handed out a massive defeat. The party could win only six wards in the town.
Kuppam in Chandrababu family’s citadel and Chandrababu Naidu has been representing the constituency since 1985. He has never been defeated so far. However, after the 2019 elections, the mood in Kuppam has changed. The party lost the MPTC, ZPTC elections and also the municipal elections.
