Chandrababu asks Uncle, nephew to swap roles for 2024

Mercurial Chandrababu Naidu wants to be oneup on his arch-rival YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He has begun his preparations for the 2024 assembly elections. Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu is preparing for advanced polls too. He is said to be readying up for even early polls. Sources reveal that he is prepared for any kind of situation in the state.

But, there is one hitch. Chandrababu Naidu is already 71 and he would be 74 or 75 when the next assembly elections. This means he would be fighting his last electoral battle. The baton would have to be handed over to young Lokesh. For this, Lokesh needs to be readied up for the job. More importantly, he needs a young batch of leaders, who would stand by his side and work under his leadership.

So as part of these efforts, Chandrababu reportedly told Atchen Naidu that he should swap his seat with his brother Yerran Naidu’ son K Rammohan Naidu. Currently Atchen Naidu is an MLA while Rammohan Naidu is an MP from Srikakulam. Rammohan Naidu has already established himself as a fiery orator and effective parliamentarian. His speeches in the Lok Sabha have won accolades and he has emerged as a powerful voice.

At the same time Atchen Naidu’s attack in the assembly is seen to be mild. He is unable to counter the Jagan government effectively. As a result, Chandrababu feels that Atchen should represent Srikakulam in Parliament, while Rammohan should work with Lokesh in the assembly. Sources say that Chandrababu has already indicated this to Atchen. It has also been made clear that Rammohan Naidu would be a perfect foil to Lokesh and they would be a good team. So, expect a role reversal in the KInjarapu family in 2024.
