Why Is Chandrababu Not Protesting Petro Price Hike?

The issue of fuel price rise is rocking the country and the middle class is incensed because of it. The opposition is organising protests at various places. Sit-ins, dharnas, protests, rasta rokos and rallies are being taken out across the country. But, one familiar face is missing amid this hullabaloo.

Chandrababu Naidu, the president of Telugu Desam and former chief minister, is conspicuous by his absence. He is not to be seen in any protest. Neither the TDP, Chandrababu nor Lokesh Babu are active in the anti-fuel price rise protests. The TDP, which gives a protest call at the drop of a hat, is totally silent on this. Why is Chandrababu Naidu not part of the fuel prices protests?

Not just that. After initial protests, the TDP these days is not a part of the Vizag steel plant issue. The protest has become something that only the trade unions are worried about. The support of the political parties has gone completely absent. The TDP, which initially organised protests, is totally silent now. While the trade unions were organising protests in Delhi's Jantar Mantar, TDP MPs Galla Jaydev and a couple of other MPs were seen. Beyond that there were no protests.

Why is the TDP silent? Is it because it wants to befriend the BJP?Is it because Chandrababu Naidu wants to go back into the NDA and form an alliance in AP to defeat the YSRCP? Chandrababu Naidu clearly feels that being in the good books of the BJP is more important than people's issues. He does not want to do anything that annoys the BJP. Is that why Chandrababu is not protesting on these issues?
