Hours after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the release of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on Friday, The IAF Pilot's Father S Vardhaman and Shoba Vardhaman catched the Delhi-bound flight in Chennai.

Co-Passengers cheered and clapped for the Parents of Abhinandan Varthaman when they were on their way through the plane to reach the seats allotted for them. They have surrounded them, clicked pictures and captured videos. Flight landed in the national capital in the early hours of Saturday. The couple left for Amritsar immediately after the landing in Delhi. They will be receiving their son at the Wagah Border at around 2 pm.

Overwhelming response from public was due to the courage and integrity shown by Abhinandan Varthaman after he was captured by the Pakistan Army. The nation looks up to this Indian Air Force Personnel for being brave enough to safeguard the confidential information.

Abhinandan Varthaman's father S Vardhaman is a retired Air Marshal and a recipient of Param Vishisht Seva Medal. Notably, Abhinandan's Grandfather Simhakutty served as Air Force Officer during World War II.
