The serving Chief Justice of India(CJI) NV Ramana interacted with the Chief Justices of the High Courts. The interaction was held virtually in the wake of Coronavirus creating havoc.

During the interaction, the honorable Chief Justice took stock of the functioning of the courts. There was a need to ramp up the process to fill the vacant posts across the courts, he said.

Media reports claimed that the CJI had pitched up the idea of setting up the National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation to construct modern courts, equipped with video conferencing facilities.

A few CJs during the virtual interaction told the CJI that the digital divide has an impact on the way the judiciary system functions. The rural and tribal areas are facing the impact in particular.
