Under the guidelines of Unlock 5.0, the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to reopen the educational institutions in the state.

As a bid to facilitate the physical distancing, the classes will be conducted in a rotation model. Students of Classes 1, 3, 5, and 7 will have classes one day, while students of 2, 4, 6, and 8 will have students on the other day.

It has been widely reported that along with the schools the intermediate colleges in the states will run for half-day only.

Earlier, the state government has decided to reopen the schools from the 5th of October. Due to the rise in the pandemic infections, the reopen date was pushed further.

The schools and educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh were forced to shut since March this year after a nationwide lockdown was imposed in India with the pandemic outbreak.
