Close to 7k people test positive for Covid in AP

Andhra Pradesh continues to report a rise in Covid single-day infections. The other day, more than 4,000 people were declared positive for the virus. Raising many fears and concerns, Andhra Pradesh had broken the landmark set by itself the other day and went even further.



As many as 6,996 people were found positive for the Covid virus in the past 24 hours. The data says that 38, 055 Covid detection tests were done across the state, and close to seven thousand people have been declared Covid positive.

The single-day cases reported in the past 24 hours are the highest in recent times. On the other hand, the casualties are fewer. With four people breathing their last battling the virus, the total number of casualties caused by the respiratory disease went to 14,514.

Looking at the recoveries from the respiratory disease, more than 1,000 people have managed to beat the virus that pushes the total recoveries to a massive 20, 66, 762. The active cases stood at 36,108 in the state.

Given the rise in the Covid cases, the Andhra Pradesh government imposed a night curfew which will be in effect till the month-end. Besides imposing a few restrictions on public movement, the government said wearing a facemask is mandatory.
