Congress Still Undecided About Karnataka
X
Confusion still reigns supreme in the Karnataka Congress Party as the high command has not yet decided on the next Pradesh Congress Committee chief. Though former CM Siddaramaiah has resigned from the party president's post post the humiliating defeat in the assembly bypolls, the high command is unable to find a successor to him.

On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah went to Delhi and discussed the issue with Sonia Gandhi for several hours. But, there was not tangible outcome. Sonia Gandhi reportedly asked Siddu to take back his resignation and continue as the PCC chief till alternative arrangements are made. The party high command wants to give the PCC chief's post to Lingayat leader MB Patil. However, Vokkaliga leader and party's money bag DK Sivakumara wants the coveted post. He feels that considering his contribution in saving the party and the 14 month government under Kumaraswami, he should be given the post.

One positive thing for Sivakumara is that Rahul Gandhi is rooting for Sivakumara. But, most of the party leaders are opposed to him. Even Siddaramaiah is said to have highlighted this point in his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, As of now, the Congress leadership feels that Siddharamaiah should be continued till alternative arrangements are made.
