Politics makes strange bed fellows. For over a decade and a half both Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy and TRS minister Harish Rao were sworn enemies. They hurled invectives and flung accusations. They slammed each other in public and used choicest abuses at each other. While Harish Rao was TRS incharge for undivided Medak district, Jagga Reddy was the unquestioned leader of the Congress in Medak. Time and again, Jagga Reddy defied Harish Rao and won from Sangareddy. Both the leaders were not on talking terms all these years.
But, today things have changed. Jaggareddy is the sole Congress MLA from undivided Medak and is now all too eager to join the TRS. He has already opened a channel of communication with KCR and KTR. Initially when Harish fell out of favour with the TRS boss, he tried to criticise Harish to curry KCR's favour. But, now that Harish Rao is back in the ministry, Jagga Reddy is warming up to him.
On Thursday, Jagga Reddy not only greeted Harish Rao at the Zilla Parishad meet, but also felicitated him by wrapping a shawl and presenting him with a bouquet. Harish Rao too smilingly accepted Jagga Reddy's gesture. Today Jagga Reddy is desperate to join the TRS for his own political future and the TRS wants to finish off the last remnants of the Congress Party. So, as they say, there are no permanent enemies in politics.
