Congressmen Squabble Over Next PCC Chief

With Huzurnagar bypolls over, the TRS is focusing on the upcoming municipal polls and is strategising as to how to win the municipalities. But, what about the Congress Party? Its focus is entirely on who will be the next PCC chief. Who should replace Uttam Kumar Reddy is the question that the Congress leaders are worried about.

Seasoned stalwarts feel that outsiders should not be made PCC chiefs. The indication is clear. They do not want Revanth Reddy, who has joined the party from the TDP, to become the PCC chief. Some seniors like VH have gone as far as even threatening to resign from the Congress and float a new regional party if Revanth is made the party chief. The high command seems to however think that young and dynamic Revanth can galvanise the party and activate the cadres.

Meanwhile, incumbent PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy does not seem to be inclined to leave his post. If he manages to win the Huzurnagar bypoll, his stock would go up within the party and he may make an effort to continue in the post. Interestingly, the Congress seems to be fighting within itself rather than fighting the real enemy TRS.
