Coronavirus cases are on a rise in the country and many states are witnessing a steady rise in single-day cases. Telugu state Andhra Pradesh is not an exemption to this. The state is seeing a growth in the cases and politicians are also coming in contact with the virus.

Telugu Desam Party(TDP) supremo, former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was infected with the contagious disease. The leader shared the news of him contracting Covid on social media to urge his close contacts to take the required measures.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu said he is Covid positive but with mild symptoms. Saying that he is home quarantined and following all the required measures, Chandrababu Naidu requested people who might have come in contact with him to take the Covid tests and take care of.

'I've tested positive for COVID with mild symptoms. I have quarantined myself at home and taking all the necessary precautions. I would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest. Please be safe and take care,' Chandrababu Naidu tweeted.

The novel Coronavirus is ringing danger bells in the Telugu Desam Party, other than Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the likes of Nara Lokesh and Devineni Uma have tested positive for the respiratory disease.

Nara Lokesh in his tweet said that he took the Covid tests and he will be observing quarantine as a safety measure even though he is asymptomatic. Having said that, Nara Lokesh urged his contacts to take the prescribed Covid protocols.

Senior TDP leader, who earlier served as Minister Devineni Uma also came in contact with the virus. As his Covid detection tests came back positive, Devineni Uma is following the precautionary measures as per the advice of the doctors.

The Covid situation in Andhra Pradesh had turned problematic and to deal with the situation, the state government went for the night curfew considering the situation. The night curfew will come into effect in Andhra Pradesh from today and the establishments like theaters, and others will work with 50 percent occupancy. Religious places will also follow the Covid protocols given the situation.
