Covid third wave is inevitable: Government's top scientific adviser!

The novel Coronavirus is circulating at a high level in India by driving the current second wave of the virus. The Covid crisis is resulting in crematoriums, hospitals, and medical facilities dedicated for Covid-19 patients receiving a flood on inflow.
When the second wave is creating havoc across the country, the government's top scientific adviser Dr. K VijayRaghavan warned that the third wave of Covid-19 is inevitable.
At a government briefing, the advisor said that going by the level, the virus is spreading, the third wave of Covid-19 will occur in the country and said, it is not clear when the next wave comes.
Talking about the present surge in fresh infections, the advisor said the vaccines against the virus should be updated to fight the new variants. He said that the UK variant of Covid-19 has slowed down due to the Indian double mutant virus.
During the briefing, Dr. K VijayRaghavan stressed the importance of focusing on strict restrictions and preventive measures to tackle the virus spread as the infections and fatalities are going up.
Replying to a question, on whether lockdown was the only solution to fight the virus spread, NITI Aayog member and chief of the national expert group on vaccines VK Paul said, the states and union territories were already advised to impose local restrictions as preventive measures.
Given the deadly second wave of Covid-19, hospitals are gasping for the oxygen supply, while cremating the corpses of Covid-19 patients became the main concern in a few states.
