Deadline To File Income Returns For Financial Year 2019-202 Extended

Taking the constraints faced by the taxpayers due to the ongoing pandemic, the Income Tax Department announced the extension of the deadline for the Tax Return filing for the financial year 2019-20.
With this, the individual taxpayers to file the income returns for their earnings between 1st of April, 2019 to the 31st of March, 2020, until the 31st of December 2020.
However, for the individuals whose accounts were yet to be audited, the deadline was extended to the 31st of January, 2021.
The decision was taken by the Income Tax Department to extend the deadline after acknowledging the hardships faced by the taxpayers with the outbreak of the pandemic.
Earlier, the government has extended the deadline to file the income returns for the financial year 2019-2020 from July 31st to November 30. The deadline was extended yet again.
On the other hand, the deadline for the people with a tax liability of up to one lakh to file the returns was also extended till the 31st of January, 2020.
