Bollywood star Deepika Padukone on Tuesday visited the Jawaharlal Nehru University to express solidarity with students. She was the first Bollywood star at the campus. She reached the campus on Tuesday evening and attended a public meeting, called by JNU teachers association in the response of Sunday's attack.
The Bollywood actress reached JNU campus at 7.45 pm and expressed her anguish at the JNU violence. She remained standing as the former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar raised slogans "Jai Bhim-Jai Bhim". She also spoke with JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh, who was beaten in Sunday violence.
On Sunday evening hundreds of ABVP people barged inside the JNU campus and attacked students and lecturers. The ABVP people attacked the students and lecturers with rods and sticks, they pelted stones on the students and teachers. In the attack, 28 students and 3 lecturers were injured.
