Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a successful track record as a captain in international cricket and the Indian Premier League(IPL) as well. Thanks to his leadership skills, the franchise had entered the playoffs in the ongoing season. The team entered the playoffs for the 11th time overall.

The main pillar of the Chennai Super Kings(CSK), Dhoni had spilled beans on his future plans in the tournament and said that he is hoping to play his last game for the team in the home ground Chennai.

The CSK held a live session on the official YouTube page and Dhoni, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, and Shardul Thakur interacted with the fans and took a few questions posted by the fans during the live.

Dhoni talked about playing his last game for CSK responding to the question of a fan, who asked Thala Dhoni why he had opted for August 15 as the retirement day without any farewell game as they lost the chance to see him on the ground.

Giving his take on the same, Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that he felt that no other day can be better than that day. He also gave an insight into his plans of playing the farewell in Chennai. Dhoni said fans might get an opportunity to witness the farewell match.

I am hopeful of reaching Chennai to play the last game so that I can meet my fans. Fans can also get an opportunity to witness the farewell match on the home ground, Dhoni said.

CSK fans and Mahendra Singh Dhoni fans are very happy to hear the announcement from the skipper that he might play his farewell match in Chennai. His comments hint at him playing for the next season too as the current season is being played in the UAE.

As the Coronavirus cases are coming down, the next season might be hosted in India by the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) and if the same happens, fans can cheer for Dhoni in his farewell match.
