As a cheer-worthy development, India is maintaining a decline in daily Coronavirus cases. With over 84,000 new cases, India reported less than one lakh cases for the fifth consecutive day in a row.

The data shared by Union Health Ministry says, 19,20,477 samples have been tested across the country and 84,332 new infections were detected in the past 24 hours. The new infections pushed the cumulative toll of infections to 2,93,59,155.

As a matter of concern, India witnessed more than 4,000 more Covid casualties for one more time. With 4,002 people losing their lives in 24 hours, total Covid related deaths have gone up to 3,67,081.

On the flip side, 1,21,311 patients were declared cured of respiratory disease in the past 24 hours. With a total of 2,79,11,384 patients, the active cases were reduced to 10,80,690. For the first time, active cases remained below 11 lakh after 63 days.

Four states witnessed the highest fresh cases in the past 24 hours-Tamil Nadu(15,759), God's own country Kerala (14,233 cases), Maharashtra (11,766), and Karnataka (8,249).

Telangana added 1,707 new Covid cases, taking the state's caseload to 6,00,318. After 5,74,103 people beating the virus, the active cases stood at 22,759. Including 16 new casualties, the total fatalities rose to 3,456.

Other Telugu state Andhra Pradesh witnessed 8,239 new Covid cases. The fresh addition of cases pushes the case toll further to 17,96,122. The active cases and fatalities stood at 96,100 and 11,824 respectively.
