EC's Revolutionary Move For TS Municipal Polls

Election Commission of India decided to make the upcoming Telangana municipal polls the first of its kind in the country. In an attempt to prevent malpractices, Face Recognition Software is going to be used for the Urban Local Body Polls.
On a pilot basis, Election Commission will be using the Face Recognition Software in one or multiple wards of Kompally Municipality. This procedure allows voting without Voter ID and any documents confirming the individual's elegibility to vote.
This first of its kind experiment would nullify the possibility of bogus votes. The face recognition software was developed using the voters list. If an imposter stands in-front of the Facial Recognition Machine, He/She will be identified immediately. This process makes the tracking of elegible voters easy. If this experiment turns out to be successful, Election Commission would use it in the Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls as well.
