EVMs Tampered in Maharashtra?

The State Election Commission (SEC) has turned down the news that the electronic voting machines(EVMs) tampered and the votes are being polled to a particular. In a big relief to the opposition parties, the Commission has also assured that the machines will be checked to investigate any further problems.

According to the reports, the Congress party stated that the EVMs tampered at several polling booths for the Assembly elections of Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra State Congress President, Balasaheb Thorat has written a letter to the SEC, that the EVMs should be kept in the strongrooms and jammers should also be installed around the counting centers. He also said that the results of the rounds should be declared individually. Including Ghatkopar and Goregaon, almost 221 polling stations have issues related to EVms, he alleged.

Satyajeet Tambe, Maharashtra Youth Congress President took to Twitter to express his doubts on the manipulation of EVMs. 'Nobody in Maharashtra believes in #ExitPolls ... Infact people are so furious & angry ... they feel there is serious possibility of EVM tampering. Anger is so bad that it might create a Law & Order situation in state. Election Commission should take care and watch this closely (sic),' read his tweet.

'These are baseless complaints and it is not possible to divert votes through machines and VVPATs.However, we will look into it', said a senior officer of Election Commission
