Eknath Shinde: Auto wallah who wanted to leave politics!!

A reluctant auto rickshaw wallah who stopped beyond Class 12 and a person who lost two of his three sons in a watery accident. That is Maharashtra's new CM Eknath Shinde for you. By any stretch of imagination, he is an unlikely candidate for becoming a CM, that too of a state as important as Maharashtra. But, here he is. Eknath Shinde is the CM of Maharashtra.
Everything about Eknath Shinde is filmi. He came from a poor migrant family and he could not go to a college because of his financial problems. He took to driving an autorickshaw to support the family. But,his love for Bal Thackeray drew him towards Shiv Sena. He regularly attended Balasaheb's public meetings and became a party activist way back in the early 1990s.
It was his association with Shiv Sena strongman from Thane Anand Dighe that changed his life. Dighe made him a full-timer of the party. He was later made a corporator and then an MLA. He has won as an MLA four times and has not tasted defeat so far. Shinde was an MLA in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. In 2014, he was elected the leader of the Shiv Sena in the Assembly.
But, his biggest gamble was when he not just revolted against Udhav Thackeray, but also weaned away the majority of Shiv Sena MLAs from Udhav. But, his biggest challenge now is to steer the Shiv Sena away from the Thackerays and take full control of the party.He has to take away the party symbol party assets and offices from Udhav Thackeray. How effectively he does determines his success graph.
