In what it could be a major shock to TDP, the Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) has been merged into the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) in Telangana on Wednesday.
The process of merging was initiated by Sathupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and MLA from Aswaraopeta Mecha Nageswara Rao. The duo is said to have written to Telangana Assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy in this regard.
As per the media reports, Mecha Nageswar Rao is scheduled to join the TRS party today formally, thus making the TDP party with no representation in the Telangana Assembly.
The duo has managed to win from the TDP party in the 2018 general elections in Telangana. Over the past few weeks, media reports are abuzz that they will join the ruling party.
Proving the reports true, the process to merge the TDLP into the TRS party. This puts an end to the glorious history of the Telugu Desam Party in Telangana.
