Experts Advise To Avoid Alcohol For 45 Days To Take Covid Vaccine

As the Covid-19 vaccination in India has begun, crores of people in the country are waiting to get their vaccine shot. As of now, 3.8 lakh people have been vaccinated in India. Of those, 580 had side effects and seven were hospitalized and three died. However, doctors confirmed that these deaths were not linked to the Covid vaccine.
Those who wish to be vaccinated are advised not to take alcohol for 45 days. According to reports, alcohol can affect the immune system and specialists have suggested all those taking the vaccine to restrain from drinking for a few days.
According to an advisory issued by the national Covid Task Force chairman Dr MK Sudarshan, recipients have been asked to avoid liquor to let their immune system develop sufficient antibodies.
Data reveal that antibodies are developing two weeks after taking the second dose. Therefore, those who want to be vaccinated or those who have already been vaccinated should stay away from alcohol for 45 days, he said.
