Finally, Congress leader Ramesh Rathod is joining the BJP. In fact, he has been making efforts to don the saffron stole for quite some time. The BjP leaders in the state too were ok with him as he could bring the Lambadi voters towards the BJP in the north Telangana region. But one politician had prevented him from joining the BJP all these days.
The leader who stopped him from getting entry into the BJP is Adilabad MP Soyam Bapurao. Bapu Rao, a Gond tribal, reportedly put his foot down and said that he should have been consulted first as he is the local MP. He took up the issue with the party's national leaders also. Finally, Ramesh Rathod went over to Bapu Rao and held discussions with him. After the meeting, Bapu Rao too has agreed for the entry of Rathod.
Rathod, a former Congress MLA, has been keeping away from the Congress activities for quite some time. The party had also suspended him for 'anti-party activities.' To this, Rathod said that how can the party suspend him when he is not even the primary member of the party.
Rathod is likely to meet Amit Shah soon and will join the BJP either on June 14 or on June 18. He is currently in Delhi for an appointment with Amit Shah.
